Hoya ‘Puom Siam Ruby’ (PMP 176) is a rare collector Hoya hybrid prized for its dramatic foliage and distinctive appearance. A cross between Hoya ‘Joy’ and Hoya ‘Jennifer’, this eye-catching wax plant develops light green leaves with pronounced venation and deep ruby-to-burgundy margins that become especially striking when grown in bright, indirect light.
Plant Characteristics
This collectible Hoya features thick, succulent-like leaves with a waxy surface, sculptural texture, and gently rippled edges. The foliage is typically oval to elongated, with clearly visible veins and contrasting dark margins. Hoya ‘Puom Siam Ruby’ has a climbing and trailing growth habit, making it ideal for a trellis, hanging basket, or indoor plant shelf. Its vines can eventually grow several feet long indoors, although regular pruning can maintain a fuller and more compact shape.
Care Guide
Light: Provide bright, indirect light to encourage healthy growth and stronger ruby coloration. Avoid intense midday sunlight, which may scorch the leaves.
