Plant Characteristics
Hoya coriacea Splash develops elongated to lance-shaped leaves with a firm, slightly leathery texture. The green foliage is decorated with scattered silver splash markings, with the amount and pattern naturally varying from leaf to leaf.
This Hoya has a vining and climbing growth habit and performs well when trained on a trellis or other vertical support. Under favorable growing conditions, mature vines can become long and full, creating an attractive display of textured foliage. Leaf size and splash intensity may vary depending on maturity, light, and growing environment.
Care Guide
Provide bright, indirect light for healthy growth and attractive foliage. Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh direct sunlight, which may damage the leaves.
Water when the upper portion of the growing medium begins to dry. Hoya coriacea prefers an airy, well-draining substrate and should not remain constantly wet. A chunky mix containing orchid bark, coco chips, perlite, and other well-draining materials works well.
Maintain moderate to high humidity, ideally around 60–80%, together with good air circulation. Recommended temperatures are approximately 65–85°F. Protect the plant from cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F.
A pot with good drainage and a trellis or support will help encourage healthy climbing growth. Care level is generally moderate.
