Homalomena Sp. Borneo Variegated
Homalomena sp. Borneo Variegated is a rare tropical aroid prized for its lush foliage and striking natural variegation. Native to the tropical regions of Borneo, this collectible Homalomena features beautiful green leaves accented with unpredictable cream, yellow, or lighter green variegation, making every plant visually unique. Its compact growth habit and exotic appearance make it an excellent choice for rare plant collectors and tropical houseplant enthusiasts.
Plant Characteristics
Homalomena sp. Borneo Variegated develops broad, attractive leaves with a smooth to slightly textured surface and prominent tropical form. The variegation can vary significantly from leaf to leaf, creating unique patterns on every plant. It has a compact, clumping growth habit and can gradually develop into a fuller specimen under optimal growing conditions.
Care Guide
Light: Bright, indirect light is recommended to support healthy growth and maintain attractive variegation. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
Water: Keep the growing medium slightly moist but never waterlogged. Allow the upper layer to begin drying before watering again.
Humidity: Prefers high humidity, ideally around 60–80%.
Temperature: Performs best at approximately 68–86°F (20–30°C).
Soil: Use a well-draining, airy tropical aroid mix with good moisture retention and root aeration.
Care Level: Intermediate.
Why Collectors Love It
Collectors appreciate Homalomena sp. Borneo Variegated for its uncommon origin, compact tropical growth, and highly variable variegated foliage. Because every new leaf can develop a different pattern, each specimen has its own character.
