As the plant matures, its vines can gradually extend and branch under favorable growing conditions. Mature size will vary depending on light, humidity, nutrition, and the type of support provided, making it easy to maintain as either a compact indoor tropical plant or a longer trailing specimen.
Care Guide
Provide bright, indirect light for healthy growth while avoiding intense midday sun that may damage the foliage. Water thoroughly when the upper portion of the growing medium begins to dry, and avoid keeping the roots constantly saturated.
Hoya patella prefers moderate to high humidity, ideally around 60–80%, together with good air circulation. Maintain temperatures around 65–85°F and protect the plant from cold drafts or prolonged exposure below 55°F.
Use a light, airy, well-draining Hoya mix containing materials such as orchid bark, coco chips, perlite, and a small amount of moisture-retentive substrate. A container with excellent drainage is recommended. Care level is generally moderate.
