Product Overview

Anthurium warocqueanum Dark Form (Anthurium warocqueanum T.Moore), commonly known as the Queen Anthurium, is a highly collectible tropical aroid admired for its dramatic, elongated foliage. Its deep green to nearly black velvety leaves and striking pale venation create an elegant contrast that makes this dark-form Anthurium a standout in any rare plant collection.

Plant Characteristics

This collectible Anthurium produces long, pendant, heart-shaped leaves with a soft velvety surface and prominent silver-green veins. The foliage becomes increasingly dramatic as the plant matures, with well-established specimens capable of developing leaves several feet long under optimal growing conditions.

Anthurium warocqueanum has an upright, compact growth habit, while its leaves naturally hang downward from the plant. As an epiphytic tropical species, it benefits from excellent root aeration, consistent environmental conditions, and enough vertical space for its mature foliage.

Care Guide

Place this Queen Anthurium in bright, filtered indirect light and protect its delicate leaves from harsh direct sunlight. Water when the upper layer of the growing medium begins to dry, keeping the roots lightly moist without allowing the pot to remain waterlogged.

Maintain high humidity, preferably around 70–90%, together with gentle air circulation. Ideal temperatures range from 65–82°F, and the plant should be protected from cold drafts and sudden environmental changes.

Use a loose, airy, well-draining aroid mix containing orchid bark, coco chips, perlite, and sphagnum moss. A pot with excellent drainage is essential. Anthurium warocqueanum Dark Form is best suited to intermediate or advanced growers because it prefers stable humidity, moisture, and temperature levels.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors value Anthurium warocqueanum Dark Form for its exceptionally long velvet leaves, dark coloration, and elegant contrasting veins. Its regal appearance and impressive mature foliage make it one of the most recognizable collectible Anthuriums.

I am so incredibly late on posting this video. This plant came in 3 weeks ago now and I’m just getting to posting this and I almost thought I wasn’t going to. My editing software was not working for anything, but I got it all fixed so now I can start getting out lots of videos we’ve recorded recently!🪴
