Anthurium warocqueanum, commonly known as the Queen Anthurium, is an iconic tropical aroid celebrated for its spectacular long, velvety leaves and striking silver-green venation. This mature-size Anthurium Warocqueanum makes an exceptional statement plant for serious aroid collectors seeking dramatic foliage and the unmistakable elegance of a mature specimen.

Plant Characteristics

Anthurium warocqueanum produces elongated, pendant leaves with a luxurious dark green, velvety surface and prominent contrasting veins. As the plant matures, its leaves can develop impressive length, creating the dramatic cascading appearance that makes this species instantly recognizable.

It has an upright, epiphytic growth habit with foliage extending downward as it develops. Under optimal growing conditions, mature specimens can produce leaves several feet long, although final size varies according to environment and care.

Care Guide

Provide bright, indirect light and protect the foliage from intense direct sunlight. Water when the upper layer of the growing medium begins to dry, keeping the roots evenly moist but never waterlogged.

This tropical Anthurium thrives in high humidity, preferably around 70–90%, with consistent air circulation. Maintain temperatures around 65–85°F and avoid sudden temperature changes or cold drafts.

Use a loose, airy, well-draining aroid mix containing materials such as orchid bark, perlite, coco chips, and sphagnum moss. Excellent drainage and root aeration are especially important. Anthurium warocqueanum is generally considered a moderate-to-advanced care plant and performs best in stable growing conditions.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors prize Anthurium warocqueanum for its extraordinary elongated velvet foliage, elegant silver venation, and dramatic mature appearance. Few tropical foliage plants create the same striking presence as a well-established Queen Anthurium.

I am so incredibly late on posting this video. This plant came in 3 weeks ago now and I’m just getting to posting this and I almost thought I wasn’t going to. My editing software was not working for anything, but I got it all fixed so now I can start getting out lots of videos we’ve recorded recently!🪴
