Our priority is always strong roots, good condition, and quality selection in every plant we ship.

Anthurium vittariifolium Variegated is a striking strap-leaf Anthurium prized for its exceptionally long, cascading foliage and unpredictable variegation. The narrow, pendant leaves create a dramatic vertical display, while contrasting cream, yellow, or lighter green variegation makes each plant visually unique. This collectible tropical plant is especially appealing to Anthurium enthusiasts looking for unusual foliage and elegant hanging growth.

Plant Characteristics

Anthurium vittariifolium produces long, narrow, strap-shaped leaves with a leathery texture and naturally pendulous growth habit. Mature green-form plants can develop leaves several feet long under ideal conditions, creating an impressive cascading appearance.

The variegated form adds irregular lighter coloration throughout the foliage, with the amount and pattern varying naturally from leaf to leaf. As an epiphytic Anthurium, it grows best when given excellent airflow around the roots and enough vertical space for its foliage to hang freely.

Care Guide

Provide bright, indirect light; variegated specimens generally benefit from stronger filtered light than standard green plants while avoiding harsh direct sun that may scorch lighter leaf sections.

Keep the growing medium lightly moist but never waterlogged, allowing the upper layer to begin drying between waterings. Maintain moderate to high humidity, preferably around 60–80%, together with good air circulation.

Anthurium vittariifolium prefers warm tropical conditions around 65–85°F. Use a loose, airy, well-draining aroid mix containing materials such as orchid bark, coco chips, perlite, and similar chunky components. Hanging baskets or elevated pots work particularly well for its pendant growth habit. Its overall care level is moderate.

Why Collectors Love It

Collectors love Anthurium vittariifolium Variegated for the combination of dramatic strap-like foliage and one-of-a-kind variegation. As the plant matures, its cascading leaves can become a spectacular focal point in an Anthurium or rare tropical plant collection.
