Anthurium ‘Dark Phoenix’ is a striking collector Anthurium admired for its exceptionally dark, velvety foliage and dramatic tropical appearance. Often associated with Anthurium papillilaminum-type genetics, its exact botanical parentage is not formally established, so “Dark Phoenix” is best treated as a cultivated collector name rather than a confirmed botanical species. Its broad, heart-shaped leaves mature into deep green to nearly black tones, creating a sophisticated statement in any rare aroid collection.

This dark-leaf Anthurium develops broad, cordate to rounded heart-shaped leaves with a soft, velvety surface and subtle venation. New leaves may emerge in bronze, burgundy, olive, or deep reddish tones before gradually darkening as they harden. The plant has a relatively compact, upright growth habit with closely spaced foliage, and mature specimens can reach approximately 20–24 inches in height and width under favorable indoor growing conditions.
