Aglaonema Pictum Tricolor at a Glance
Aglaonema is a plant native to Indonesia or endemic to the islands of Sumatra and Nias. Habitat on the tropical forest floor with low light intensity and high humidity. Can't stand light. Therefore, it is placed in a shady or shady place so that the color of the leaves is brilliant.

Aglaonema Pictum Tricolor is a very unique aglaonema; a beautiful plant with attractive foliage and a very "unpretentious" nature given its low maintenance. It is a slow growing plant and has amazing oval shaped leaves with unique variations. True to its name, Tricolor, the leaves of this plant display a mixture of three different colors, namely light green, white, and dark. This plant is very suitable for indoor environments and thrives in ordinary home conditions, making it a very popular ornamental plant.

Aglaonema pictum tricolor or Chinese Evergreen Tricolor is a slow-growing, variegated sub-tropical shrub of the more common Aglaonema pictum species. It is often referred to as a camouflage plant because of its pattern.

Aglaonema is a genus of 40 different species. This genus has hundreds of different cultivars and is available in a variety of colors.

The Aglaonema pictum plant grows at an altitude of 1000 – 2000m on the slopes of a volcano on the islands of Sumatra and Nias.

This species was described by Carl Sigismund Kunth in 1841.

Aglaonema pictum tricolor as the name suggests has three different colors on its leaves. It has dark green, bright green and white speckled leaves which give this very cool army look.

The leaves are oval to elliptical and longer than wide and have thick woody stems. This plant is very rare and thought out.

About the genus Aglaonema
In Greek, "Aglos" means "light" and "nema" means "thread." This genus of plants is ideal for keeping indoors as it does not like the usual tropical and sub-tropical environments. Also known as Chinese Evergreen, this plant is very popular for its foliage, both native and variegated. Its oval-shaped leaves with a glossy appearance are very pleasing to the eye.

Aglaonema plants come in hundreds of varieties, each differing in size, color, and shape, but what makes them so popular is how beautiful they are and how well they can adapt to different indoor environments. Aglaonema Pictum Tricolor is one of these beautiful varieties.

Origin and Distribution
The genus Aglaonema was originally found in tropical and subtropical areas of southern China, Malaysia and New Guinea. It has also been found to come from the Philippines. They are not only found thriving in tropical and subtropical rainforests, but are also found around swamps and highlands. What surprises many botanists is that although these plants are native to the tropics, they also like to grow indoors in low humidity environments.

Aglaonema Pictum is found in Sumatra and Nias Island from 2000 meters to 35 meters around the slopes of the popular volcano.
